Researcher Development Working Group

The group oversees the provision of researcher development for research staff including action planning.

In 2008, the University established a Researcher Development Working Group, consisting of staff from across the University, to oversee the implementation of the Concordat and Researcher Development Framework.

The group is led by a research-active academic chair and an HREiR Project Coordinator, and membership consists of representatives from:

  • Research staff
  • Human Resources
  • Equality Office
  • Research Degrees Team
  • Research Office
  • Research staff representative on the University Research Committee
  • Careers and Placements Office

Collectively the group oversees the provision of researcher development for research staff including action planning from the Careers in Research Online Survey (CROS) and the Principle Investigators and Research Leaders Survey (PIRLS) results and the research staff mentoring scheme.

A conference for staff and students

In January 2019, the RDWG is hosting its third biennial researcher development conference. It is open to all University staff and research students. See Prof Grace Lees-Maffei's presentation slides from the Excellence in Research conference:
