2020 Covid Update

Latest update: September and December 2020 ceremonies postponed to April 2021

In light of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the University of Hertfordshire has had to make the very difficult decision to postpone both the September and December 2020 Graduation Ceremony periods. We appreciate how disappointed you will be, just as we are, but we have to put the safety and wellbeing of you and your family first.

We are, however, happy to announce that we have some provisional dates for the postponed ceremonies:
Wednesday 7th -Thursday 15th April 2021

Please note that we cannot guarantee at this time that these ceremonies will go ahead, but we wanted to keep our graduates informed of our current plans.

We have booked these dates with St Albans Cathedral, but the decision to go ahead will be made based on Government guidance in the interest of minimising the risk to our students and their guests. The University of Hertfordshire cannot be liable for any costs, losses or damages (including those associated with travel and/or accommodation) incurred by students, staff or their families arising as a result of the further postponement or cancellation of graduation ceremonies, for any reason.

The December ceremonies are normally held on campus, but under these exceptional circumstances we have booked these dates with St Albans Cathedral. This is to facilitate accommodating all of our 2020 graduates, both from the December and September postponed ceremony periods.

We will email eligible students as soon as we have more information, no later than January 2021, when we hope to open registration for these postponed ceremonies.

It is essential that you keep your email address up to date on your Student Record so that you do not miss our email updates.

Please see below FAQs for more information. Once you have read through, if you still have further questions please do not hesitate to contact us exams@herts.ac.uk.
