Step into the future with your students at the University of Hertfordshire’s first ever in-person Festival of Ideas on 17-18 May 2024 in Hatfield.
Expand young minds and broaden their horizons while exploring an inspiring showcase brimming with free, diverse, innovative events, informative talks and captivating performances.
Students from all year groups can create lasting memories and discover new passions visiting our exhibitions and galleries, film screenings, and virtual reality simulations. They’ll also be able to hear from industry leaders and the University’s experts in business, AI, technology, arts and culture, health, and sport. We’ll even have a pop-up planetarium!
You won’t want to miss:
- Robot hospital house: Professor of Human-Robot interaction Farshid Amirabdohallian, and Senior Research Fellow and manager of the Robot House, Dr Patrick Holthaus , share their latest research into socially-assistive robots, health-tech breakthroughs and a future vision of patients being treated in a hospital in their own home.
- Enterprise challenge workshop: secondary school students can pitch their business ideas to our Enterprise Ambassadors for a chance to win funding to bring them to life.
- Cracking the case: take part in a murder trial simulation: From crime scene investigation, to forensics, to the court case, join our Law School team for an immersive simulation of a murder case from beginning to end in our prestigious Law Court.
