Computer Aided Design (CAD) on desktop computers has brought 3D design within the scope of anyone interested in learning how to make 3D models for either professional or personal use.

This course is for people who want to learn how to create drawings of a property or to gain an introduction to the Computer Aided Design (CAD) software: Revit, which is used in the construction and architectural industry and is a powerful, industry-standard programme.

By the end of the course, you will have created images of a property in 3D, and produced 2D drawings including floor plans, elevation and sectional views. Your drawings will also include predefined walls, doors and windows, making your property as realistic as possible.

After an initial introduction to the software, the course will cover:

  • Understanding the Revit software interface.
  • Setting up levels (ground floor, first floor etc.).
  • Creating walls with doors and windows.
  • Adding floors, stairs and roofs.
  • Creating drawings; floor plans, elevations and sections.
  • Creating 3D views of a property.
