Apply for on campus student accommodation
How to apply
You should apply online via the online accommodation portal.
You will be asked to specify your preferences for the location, cost and the type of accommodation when you apply. These are taken into account as far as possible.
Receiving an accommodation offer
Once you have submitted your accommodation application and your academic course place has been confirmed and accepted, we can progress your accommodation booking.
Offers are made from 1 April to eligible students. Accommodation offers won't be made until your GCE A level results are known.
Rooms are given out as per the allocation priorities. We can allocate rooms once you've accepted your course place and submitted an accommodation application. The earlier you do this, the more likely you are to get your first or second choice.
We do our best to give you the accommodation that most closely matches what you want, but it isn't always possible to give you your first choice. Our most modern accommodation is always very popular, with more requests than there are places.
We don't take courses into account when room making allocations.
Before you come to the University, we send you detailed information to help you decide what to bring with you.
If you are a current full time student with the university and wish to apply for on campus accommodation for the next academic year please visit our Ask Herts page which will contain all the information you need to apply.
Please contact us if you have any queries about how to apply or need further information.
