About SW:MR

We come from three European countries: Germany, Italy and the UK.

• Professor Maria do mar Castro Varela is based in the Alice Salmon School in Berlin, Germany
• Professor Ria Puhl is based in the social work department of the Catholic University of Cologne, Germany
• Prof. Elena Allegri is based in the Università del Piemonte Orientale, in Asti and Alessandria, Italy
• Professor Shula Ramon is based in the social work section, School of Health and Social Work, University of Hertfordshire  in Hatfield, UK

Each of us has researched the media in our own country and comparatively in relation to aspects of social work, social work client groups and specific social problems (such as domestic violence, mental health, refugees), and/or in different media resources (newspapers, films, television).
