An insight into the work of the Standards and Testing Agency.

This webinar should be of interest to all teachers and those working in the primary phase of schooling.

This webinar will focus on the rigorous processes that the Standards and Testing Agency go through to ensure that the tests are accessible, fair, valid and reliable. Our speakers will talk through the test development process in detail and the qualitative and quantitative information they gather throughout the 3-year process. Panellists

Anne Counsell

Anne is the Deputy Director for the Assessment Research and development team at STA. This includes teams of test developers, who were all previously teachers, psychometricians, assessment researchers as well as leading the project management teams. Anne was a teacher and senior leader in primary schools for 25 years before joining the Standards and Testing Agency.

Sally-Ann Ali

Sally-Ann is the Head of Test Development Research for the KS1 and KS2 assessments, looking after the team of test developers who are responsible for developing and refining the content of the tests. Sally-Ann was a secondary school English teacher and head of year in Derbyshire before moving to London and teaching in a primary school for a short time. She moved to the National Assessment Agency in 2005 and has worked on the content of the national curriculum tests since that time.
