Apprenticeship Funding Rules: August 2024 to July 2025
Here at the CIEA, we are committed to keeping you informed about the government's latest regulatory changes affecting Maths and English in apprenticeships. The funding rules for August 2024 to July 2025 introduce several key updates aimed at reducing administrative burdens and enhancing flexibility for employers and training providers. Notable improvements include streamlined onboarding processes, revised learning support requirements, and adjustments to active learning timelines for specific training models. These changes are designed to support apprentice progression while maintaining high educational and training standards.
A significant update involves changes to subcontracting policies, raising the de-minimis exemption from £30,000 to £100,000. This increase allows greater flexibility in engaging industry specialists in apprenticeship programs, ensuring apprentices benefit from expert-led training. Additionally, modifications to English and Maths requirements now enable apprentices with learning difficulties or disabilities to study at a more appropriate level without the need for an Education, Health, and Care Plan. These revisions reflect a continued commitment to making apprenticeships more accessible and adaptable to diverse learner needs.
For those involved in apprenticeship delivery, understanding these funding rule changes is essential.
