Friends of Bayfordbury

The University of Hertfordshire is pleased to invite local residents and other users of the Bayfordbury Campus to become Friends of Bayfordbury.

The idea of the Friends of Bayfordbury scheme is to encourage community engagement through University activities such as:

  • the annual Friends of Bayfordbury social event
  • email circulation of forthcoming events, eg. Astronomy open evenings
  • guided walks of the site and Pinetum
  • participation in Bio-blitz events

Friends of Bayfordbury can make use of designated footpaths in the Pinetum, the woodlands and the campus (see those marked on the map below). The membership scheme requires each individual house or flat owner or occupier to sign up to a membership and to agree to some reasonable management restrictions and regulations to enable the University to manage its campus estate.

All members of the scheme are asked to carry a membership card with them whilst on campus and be prepared to show their card to security or any member of University staff if requested.

Members are bound by the following rules and regulations. Due to COVID-19 and current restrictions, the scheme is currently suspended. This page will be updated with the latest information on the status of the scheme, including when it will reopen.
