This fun and free day will be jam-packed with inspiring activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Make your own arts + crafts, see our spectacular Sculpture Walk, hear about the amazing artworks in the exhibition, and treat yourself in our café!

Come and use our materials and create something to take away in response to the themes of the exhibition. You are invited to play with colour and texture, use collage to tell a story or make your very own animal mask! With Mother's Day around the corner, why not create something special for your loved ones too.

World Illustration Awards Touring Exhibition

From book covers to newspapers, packaging to murals, illustration is the visual language of everyday life. This touring exhibition celebrates the engaging artform with a diverse range of styles, materials, and topics – featuring an extraordinary range of illustration practice.

The World Illustration Awards are the illustration industry’s most prestigious showcase of the very best work being made by emerging talent and professional illustrators across the globe today. We are thrilled to bring this exciting touring exhibition to campus, containing over 40 works of art from Category Winners, Overall Winners and Highly Commended projects.

Self-Guided Sculpture Walk

Grab a Sculpture Map from the gallery desk and take a refreshing walk around campus to explore the outdoor sculptures for yourself! The Sculpture Walk forms part of the University Art Collection and presents an eclectic group of works which map the changing characteristics of British Sculpture since the 1950s.


The Café will be open for delicious refreshments.

Children must be accompanied by adults.

Booking is encouraged but not essential.

Parking is FREE on Saturdays, please park in Student Car Park E.

Accessible parking and toilets are available and the entrance to the Art + Design Gallery is at ground level.
