This workshop, run by artist Andrea V Wright, looks at creating spatial drawings using thread, tape and props. Participants will practice drawing line in the 'expanded field', working with materials to portray physicality and volume. The workshop explores a more performative aspect of drawing and how our perceived understanding of space can be shaped via illusion and surface tension.

Artist Andrea V Wright's process-based practice explores relationships between weight and lightness, strength and fragility, the perceived and illusory in a play of opposites. Her site-specific installations create 'impossible planes' - geometric lines and forms that interact within the architectural space, extracting, flattening and re-extracting form.

The workshop is part of the Line/Extended exhibition and coincides with the national Big Draw Festival - the worlds biggest celebration of drawing.
