In their 50th Anniversary Season, the orchestra welcome back oboe soloist Jonathan Small, who first appeared as a soloist with the orchestra in 1973, before launching his professional career. Jonathan joined the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 1984, as the youngest principal oboist in the UK.

Jonathan will perform Martinu's Oboe Concerto in our Czech Classics Concert. This is accompanied by two works by Dvořák – his Scherzo Capriccioso and the ever popular Symphony No. 9, the “New World” Symphony.

Free Pre-Concert Talk at 2:30pm.
