As part of the Art in Practice alumni exhibition, we spoke to illustrator Amandeep Singh – known professionally as Ink – about his practice and learned more about his ways of working – what inspires him, what tips he has for new graduates and artists, and how studying at UH has helped his career.

Amandeep Singh:

Amandeep Singh – also known as Ink – is a London based illustrator and graphic artist. His intricate ink creations are inspired by his Sikh culture and the world around him. Singh’s work touches on subjects such as religion, pop culture, and politics to name a few. He takes pride in telling stories through his artwork and allowing the viewer to interpret his paintings in their own ways.

Singh graduated with BA(Hons) in Graphic Design and Illustration, and subsequently with an MA in Illustration from the University of Hertfordshire in 2009, and has gone on to work with many high-profile clients and companies. He has worked on many private commissions and is currently working on a creative project with Apple.
