With a 30-year record of producing skilled engineers for all branches of the automotive industry, the University of Hertfordshire’s a great choice if you want to work in this cutting-edge sector. You’ll focus on vehicle design as you explore performance, consumer demand, safety and sustainability.

You'll learn mechanical engineering subjects in core modules that balance laboratory activities with the relevant, supportive theoretical knowledge and benefit from access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment throughout your studies. You’ll use the latest industry tools and techniques in our specialist classes in vehicle structures, engine performance, aerodynamics, materials and manufacturing strategies. You'll also learn how to apply computer-aided engineering and industrial-standard software.

This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and is the first step towards gaining chartered engineer status.
