The Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research brings together basic, clinical and applied health sciences, facilitating collaboration and promoting synergy between researchers with internationally-renowned expertise in health services and clinical research.

The Centre draws on the resources of Life and Medical Sciences and local NHS Trusts to conduct high-quality research. Our research spans pharmacology, analytical chemistry, clinical medicine, pharmacy, psychology, public health, epidemiology and health methods.

Professor Diana Gorog

Professor Diana Gorog is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Joint Head of the Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research at the University of Hertfordshire. She is also a Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for Research at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. She is actively engaged in clinical research, with a particular emphasis on identifying patients at risk of coronary and cerebrovascular thrombosis using novel near-patient testing.

Dr Silvana Mengoni

Dr Silvana Mengoni is a Senior Research Fellow and Joint Head of the Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research. She carries out applied research with children and adults with learning disabilities and/or long-term health conditions, and her methodological expertise includes clinical trials, process evaluations and mixed-methods research.
