Modern media is becoming more and more influential in every aspect of our society, from politics and economics to the way we communicate with our closest friends. You’ll learn the different ways in which the media communicates, how the various industries are connected and what influence the media has on society. In addition, you’ll develop an in-depth knowledge of specialist topics such as public relations, advertising and digital media, complementing your other subjects and enabling you to work in a variety of fields.

You can study Media as part of a combined undergraduate degree or as part of the Mass Communications programme.

You can also continue your studies in this exciting subject area at postgraduate level. The MA in Journalism & Media Communication aims to bridge theory and practice in a dynamic interplay as the programme works to develop a wide ranging portfolio of skills.

The course reaffirmed my interest in working in media and gave me the chance to understand how magazines are put together. I gained essential experience during the course through working on the student magazine and the lecturers helped me to gain experience and opened me up to new career opportunities.
