About Philosophy at the University of Hertfordshire

At the University of Hertfordshire we offer undergraduate and postgraduate Philosophy degrees.

All of our Philosophy teaching staff also carry out research. Philosophy achieved excellent results in the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014), with 19% of our research being judged 4 star ('world-leading') and a further 47% of it being judged 3 star ('internationally excellent'). All staff in Philosophy were submitted for this exercise.

In the 2018 QS rankings of university departments, Philosophy at Hertfordshire was ranked as one of the 150 best philosophy departments worldwide.

In the 2019 Guardian league table, Philosophy at Hertfordshire is listed in 14th place (out of 46).
