film studentsThe University of Hertfordshire has partnered with the London Film Academy to offer an accelerated pathway in to the Master of Arts in Film and Television Production for graduates of the LFA’s Filmmaking Diploma.

Students who have completed the LFA Filmmaking Diploma can apply for advanced entry in to our award-winning practice-based MA degree. The degree offers a combination of creative, technical, practical and management skills make this course unique and our graduates highly successful, as employees or as independent filmmakers.

How it works

The LFA Postgraduate Filmmaking Diploma is recognised by the University of Hertfordshire for progression onto the MA Film and Television Production.  If you have successfully completed (or are predicted to complete) your Diploma you will gain credits on the MA equal to 75 credits: (Practice 1, Practice 2 and Creative Economies).  This will leave you with 105 credits to be completed at the University of Hertfordshire which can be studied part time over a complete academic year.

To apply for our MA Film and Television Production course you must satisfy our University's entry criteria and UKBA requirements (if applicable).

Starting September

The modules you'll study as part of the top-up (equivalent to 75 credits) are:

  • Research and Enquiry (7CTA1079) Semester A*
  • Discourse and Reflection: Professional Project Development (7CTA1087) Semester A & B
  • Major Study: Film and TV Production (7CTA1072) Semester C
