Postgraduate opportunities

There is opportunity for suitably motivated and qualified individuals who wish to undertake postgraduate research in the fields of

  • Mathematical/Theoretical Physics, or
  • Mathematics

This will lead to either an MSc by Research (normally after 1 year) or PhD (normally after 3-4 years) postgraduate degree. We also offer, if resources allow, part-time PhDs.

We welcome informal enquiries from potential candidates. You are encouraged to contact members of academic staff to ask about possible research topics.

UH Studentships

These studentships are open to UK and to non-UK students. A few of these studentships are available every year. Applicants must hold, or expect to have been awarded by the starting date, an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., physics, astrophysics, mathematics). The University also expects applicants to have an IELTS (English proficiency) score of normally 6.5 or above.
