Triennial World Conference

2016 Triennial World Conference on Transport Research, Shanghai, China

Professor Austin Smyth and Dr Luke Kelleher have had three papers accepted for presentation at the World Conference on Transport Research. The 14th World Conference will be held 10-15 July 2016 in Shanghai, China at Tongji University. The prestigious World Conference on Transport Research has been held every three years since 1977.

This conference will offer staff from the CSC a unique opportunity to meet with experts from all parts of the world and to stimulate the exchange of ideas in the broad field of transport research. The papers to be presented in July cover the wide range of transport related topics currently being investigated by the CSC research team including: public transport regulatory reform; the Electric Vehicle market and School Choice and Transport.

The papers are:

  • ‘Perspectives on the wider school travel related costs for society arising from facilitating ‘choice' in the education system’.
  • ‘Perspectives on the roles of control and regulation for the quality and effectiveness of public transport: Recent evidence from the UK and Ireland’.
  • ‘A potential role for e-car clubs in promoting the uptake of new vehicle technologies’.
