During the last three years the CSC has helped establish the University of Hertfordshire as one of the leading UK Higher Education institutions, contributing to the prestigious Annual European Transport Conference hosted by the Association for European Transport. The European Transport Conference (ETC) is recognised in its role of connection between the worlds of research, consultancy, policy and practice.
These include papers presented and subsequently published on: transport infrastructure and sustainable economic development; transport regulation and control; the prospects for the market for Electric Vehicles; and the sustainability performance of alternative schooling systems. Researchers presenting at this conference are challenged by both policy-makers and practitioners. Attendance at ETC enables CSC research staff to engage with not only fellow academics but also industry professionals and policy makers from across Europe and further afield.
The CSC has also had peer reviewed papers accepted for the US National Academy of Sciences’ Annual Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting held in Washington DC.
In 2016 The Centre had three papers covering school choice and transport, regulatory reform and the market for Electric Vehicles accepted for the upcoming triennial 2016 World Conference on Transport Research to hosted by Tongji University in Shanghai in July 2016. The prestigious World Conference on Transport Research has been held every three years since 1977.
