Climate interactions and Future changes
Sub-programme leader: Dr Pushp Raj Tiwari
We focus on research in climate dynamics and predictability across scales. In particular, approaches to downscale predictions for climate investigations are being developed. These higher resolution state-of-the-art climate models, in combination with observations, are being used to understand interactions between global and regional scale climate.
As part of our research we have an extensive collaboration network including UK Met Office, ECMWF, University of Reading, University of Leeds, University of Cambridge, Rothamsted Research Centre, Finnish Meteorological Institute, IRI Columbia University, NCAR, LBNL, ICTP Italy, IIT Delhi, IIT Bhubaneswar and NCMRWF.
Our current projects include:
- Regional Climate change over South Asia & Africa
- Weather, climate and air quality extremes over South Asia & Africa
- Climate change food and water security and role of fungal spores
