Pre-sessional English
Do you need to increase your current level of English (IELTS score)?
Join the Pre-sessional English Programme on the appropriate route. This will be your pathway to entry onto your chosen degree programme.
These courses help you to develop your academic language and study skills so that you can study effectively at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. Successful completion of the course means that you will not need to take another IELTS exam.
Pre-sessional English programmes for the Semester A, September 2022 intake will be delivered online. Due to COVID-19, we have adapted how we deliver our Pre-sessional English course to ensure it is available to as many students as possible, whilst still maintaining the highest standards of teaching. We are pleased to inform that we have been able to adapt a small selection of our Pre-Sessional English programmes to be taught online to support our students to meet their full potential. As these courses will be taught online, you will not be required to apply for a visa to undertake these Pre-Sessional English programmes, saving you time to focus on studying English and preparing for your arrival in the UK for the start of the September 2022 intake. You will still need a visa for your follow on degree course.
The programmes will finish on the 26 August 2022 for Semester A entry and on the 9 December 2022 for Semester B entry.
Once a student is placed on the programme, they'll be contacted by our team with more information and joining instructions. If you want to find out more, please email international@herts.ac.uk.
