Photographer Olivia Berry - flare 2015 winnerThe prestigious title of 'Best Business' and a prize of £8,000 was awarded to Olivia Berry for her business Olivia Berry Photography – a bespoke photographic service, specialising in equine and events; capturing special occasions, rural sporting days, pet and equestrian portraits.

Olivia's business has been operational since early 2014 with many customers being referrals. flare has given her that next push and the 21 year old graduate is confident and excited about the future of her business.

Olivia's prize money will go towards buying a new camera and other equipment.

In addition to her cash prize, Olivia will also receive one year's membership to the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce and free office space in the University's Incubation Centre.

Looks Good On Me

Mathew Blakemore and Tatjana Aphuktina - flare winners 2014 The second top prize was awarded to Tatjana Apukhtina and her business partner Matthew Blakemore.

The two Hertfordshire Business School graduates fought off competition from over 100 entrants to win the coveted title of 'Best Idea' and £5,000 for their social shopping app, Looks Good On Me.

The shopping app transforms friends into an intimate circle of fashion advisers, who can be called upon at any time to offer feedback on outfit choices.

Tatjana and Matthew will also receive one year's membership to the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce and free office space in the University's Incubation Centre.

Skye & Fenn

Francesca Heath - flare 2014 winnerMarketing graduate, Francesca Heath, won a prize of £2,000 for her highly commended unisex skincare range, Skye & Fenn – a quirky collection that reflects the narrowing gap between what is considered masculine and feminine. 

Francesca will use her prize money to further develop her business; she will also receive one year's membership to the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, and free office space in the University's Incubation Centre.
