Shaun Borstock and Mark Bloomfield (electrobloom) with Modeclix 3D printed luxury garments, clicked on to swing and glitter. Modeclix was initially developed to address the challenges of 3D Printing fashion: how to make a fluid textile that would drape, flow and move and how to produce something large enough to be worn and to allow someone with no CAD knowledge to create clothing. Yet, Shaun Borstrock also explores current perceptions of luxury and the potential of additive manufacture in creating bespoke luxury using both traditional and digital techniques. The Modeclix collection is one such example, a thrilling ‘little black dress’ in 3D printing with 18,000 hand-mounted crystals.
