Safety Assessment of Aircraft Systems
About the course
This five-day residential course is designed and taught by highly experienced trainers and includes content from several guest speakers, strategically selected from a group of industry experts that have represented organisations such as Rolls Royce, Airbus, and EASA.
Content will be delivered via lectures, tutorials, collaborative group work, and masterclasses from a variety of experienced industry experts. Upon completion, you will receive:
- a comprehensive set of Course Notes
- a signed Certificate of Training
- an invitation to the programme dinner, which will be held at the de Havilland Aircraft Museum in nearby London Colney.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills at Herts, which has firmly established roots in the aeronautical industry as the birthplace of the legendary ‘Comet’ aircraft, which was the world's first jet passenger aircraft. In partnership with RGW Cherry and Associates, as well as other industry experts, this course is a must for professionals in settings where effective safety assessment of systems is a critical element of their remit.
While the course is based on the current civil aeroplane regulations contained in CS/FAR 25.1309, experience suggests that personnel from Military Aviation and other industries, where the safety of systems is crucial, will also find this course hugely beneficial.

Due to the nature of delivery and evening sessions of this five-day course, participants are encouraged to stay in the recommended accommodation*. Details of how to take advantage of the agreed preferential rates will be provided upon booking a place on the course
*Accommodation is available at an additional charge for both Bed & Breakfast and Dinner, Bed & Breakfast packages for 5 nights (Sunday - Thursday) from approximately £150 per night. Subject to availability.
Who should attend the course?
The course is primarily aimed at Engineers and Project Managers who may be involved directly, or indirectly, with the system safety assessment process, and who have had no formal training nor instruction on safety analysis techniques and processes.
This course will also add value to those working for manufacturers, suppliers, operators, and aviation authorities who are concerned with the design, reliability, safety, or certification of aircraft systems.
