Why choose this course?
- This qualification gives you the skills and confidence to work in the Health and Fitness Industry where you will learn how to plan, and deliver gym inductions and programmes within a gym setting.Throughout this intensive course you will learn how to:
- Complete an assessment of the client’s needs
- Learn how to deliver gym programmes to people
- Instruct using a range of equipment including cardiovascular, free weights and fixed resistance machines.
The course is suitable for those who already posess a good level of health & fitness and who take an active interest in sport, health & exercise. It is also a useful additional qualification for students of sport & exercise related courses who wish to work full or part-time in the health & fitness industry.
Throughout the course you will complete a series of short-answer worksheets, sit two multiple choice anatomy and principles of exercise exams, and be observed instructing gym based exercise. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to work in the industry as a Fitness Instructor.
Dates for the course are every Tuesday evening from 14th January - 31st March 2020, 6-9pm with additional student e-learning.
If you are a student of the University of Hertfordshire you are eligible to attend this course.
This course is available to sport and exercise scientists, sports therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, dietitians and nutrition students. Additional health practitioners will be considered if you contact the course leader (Dr Charlotte Gautrey)
