Disaster Risk: Global Threat, Local Impact
About the courseBack to course listing
Climate change, urbanisation, demographics, security and energy may be international issues but they will affect us all.
Local authorities have responsibility for compiling a local Risk Register with associated emergency plans and we rely on the 'blue light' services for the first response. However, often the resolution of an emergency requires the assistance of a much wider range of other professions, partners, contractors and volunteers.
This course will provide participants with an overview of the international, EU and UK emergency arrangements and indicate where they as individuals may find themselves with an important part to play. In addition to formal presentations there will also be an interactive element to the day where participants can develop their own skills in disaster management.
The course takes is available on request. Please contact us if you are interested in joining this course.
