Adobe Premiere Pro

About the course

This 6 week short course is a beginners’ guide for people who want to be able to make and edit their own films using industry standard software, Adobe Premiere Pro. It is also a grounding for people who want to make a start on a professional career in film-making and editing.

Throughout the course you will have hands-on experience in using the skills you are learning and as a result you will be able to apply this knowledge to making your own video by the final session.

What will I study?

Learner hours: 15

Using our industry standard software and equipment, you will film a short sequence, learn the essentials of film-editing and how to navigate Adobe Premiere Pro’s menu and tools. In class sessions you will work on a basic project undertaking everything from importing video through editing, adding a soundtrack, creating a title sequence and exporting the final result to the best file format for the purpose.

Week by week our experienced tutor will take you through essential topics such as:

  • Film sequences
  • Media management
  • Understanding formats and importing video
  • Video editing tools and techniques
  • Adding effects and transitions
  • Adding opening and end credits
  • Key-framing and timelines
  • Exporting finished video

By the end of the course, you will be able to shoot and edit video, audio and other media content, and add effects and transitions to your film. Finally, you will learn how to export your finished video to a web, TV or mobile format, including knowing the difference between these formats and how to choose the right one for the job.

This course is ideal for those who want to learn through practical workshops, with industry tips and one-to-one tutor support and guidance.

Alternatively you can sign up for our Adobe Premiere Pro (Online) course.

Our 6 week After Effects course perfectly complements our ‘Premiere Pro’ course for creating and adding motion graphics and visual effects to your videos.
