Art Design - Portfolio Preparation Course
About the courseBack to course listing
Why choose this course?
Mondays 28 September to 07 December 2020 (exc 19 and 26 October 2020, half term)
This is a very practical course which gives you the opportunity to experiment with both 2D and 3D art and design techniques.
It’s the perfect way to build your portfolio if you have not taken an art and design foundation course but are thinking about further studies. It will help you to gain confidence in both making and talking about your work.
During this course you will:
- Learn idea generation and research skills and be able to demonstrate your approach to them in your work, through process notebooks.
- Take part in group discussions where you will practice answering interview questions. You will gain both experience and take away tips for success in the interview process. You will also learn to speak about the themes in your work to your peers.
- Be encouraged to practice new techniques and ways of working, exploring new forms of creative thinking and making.
- Complete a variety of short projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic and product design.
What will you learn?
By the end of the course you will have a strong set of both 2D and 3D work which crosses over between fine art and design practice. You will be able to demonstrate your ideas and research skills, create process books which evidence those skills, and feel confident in discussing and presenting your work at interview and with peers.
This course is for 13 to 17 year olds.
Parents: When registering, please enrol with your own details. There is a field on the enrolment paperwork where you can enter your son or daughter's name.
