Entry Requirements

The module is aimed at registered health care professionals currently working in an appropriate area of practice.    Normally students may enter Level 6 study if they have completed a qualification at Level 5, equivalent to a Diploma (120 credits at Level 5).

 

Course Overview

Induction Days for new starters is 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th September 2023 - attendance is required.

 

The aims of the module are to build on existing skills and knowledge to facilitate a critical approach to the holistic assessment and management of patients' and families health needs.

This module will equip practitioners with the necessary skills and expertise to holistically assess and plan health and social care interventions that are evidence based and promote patient choice and independence.

Students will be encouraged to develop effective communication skills that support working in partnership with patients, families and carers.

 

Assessment

The assessment for this module will be:

  • Practical 100% - Objective Structured Clinical Examination.
