This course is based around sports coaching, sport and fitness development and sport-related management. If you're hoping to work in the sports and leisure industry, you'll benefit from its strong emphasis on practical, work-based learning.

You'll take coaching modules at the outstanding Hertfordshire Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus at the University of Hertfordshire and have the opportunity to gain additional coaching awards.

Progression routes

All progression routes outlined below are currently valid; however available progression will be updated on an annual basis in accordance with changes in UH provision.

Progression to BSc (Hons) Sports Studies at UH requires an average classification grade tariff of 60% or more from the second year of study only, (i.e. all Level 5 modules) and a pass in Research Skills for Sports Studies (pre-requisite for BSc (Hons) Final Year Project, unless studying for a Pass degree only (non-honours route).

What will I study?

Coaching units will be delivered at the outstanding Hertfordshire Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus at the University of Hertfordshire. The course is aimed at students who wish to work in the sports and leisure industry. There will also be a strong emphasis on work-based learning.
