Can I visit the university?
If your reason for visiting the University can be completed remotely, please do not come to campus. If you feel unwell, please do not come to campus. You can check any symptoms using the NHS 111 Online service.

How do I get to campus?
You can find advice on travel to the University on our website. If possible, please avoid public transport by cycling, walking or driving.
Car
Visitor parking is available across the University, locations can be found on our parking map. Parking charges apply, please use contactless payment methods wherever possible.
Cycle
You can find local cycle routes here. Cycle racks are available across our campuses.
Bus
Public transport routes and times can be found here.
If you need to use public transport or the University’s inter-campus shuttle service you will need to wear a face covering. Please use contactless payment methods wherever possible.

Do I need to sign in when I visit the university?
Yes, upon arrival, please report to the main reception either on College Lane or de Havilland.

Is the university operating a Track and Trace system?
We have a track and trace process in place using QR codes across campus. When you arrive on site please log in to your location by using the QR code which will be clearly signed in the area you are visiting.

What safety measures have been put in place on campus?
Our plans are informed by the latest government advice and national guidelines. These include:
- Increased cleaning across the University, including accommodation and social spaces
- Additional signage to encourage social distancing, face coverings and handwashing
- Additional hand sanitiser stations

What are my responsibilities when on campus?
- Maintain social distancing
- Read signage at building entrances which will outline the guidance for that building
- Wash your hands regularly and use the hand sanitiser provided at all building entrances
- Follow directional signage within our buildings
- Use the cleaning materials provided to sanitise any equipment used
- Follow any additional local guidance, which will be communicated to you by your contact at the University

If I visit, do I need a face covering?
Following Government guidelines, face coverings should be worn by anyone on campus - students, staff and visitors, where social distancing is difficult to maintain, such as:
- Any indoor areas of campus including communal spaces and corridors
- Enclosed public spaces, such as reception areas, Chapman lounge and de Havilland Atrium
- University shops
- Cafes (except while eating or drinking)
- Faith and quiet spaces
- Public transport

Are toilet facilities open?
Yes, when using our toilet facilities, please:
- Maintain a 2m distance in the queue and inside the facility – some facilities operate “one in - one out” or have limited capacity, please follow any signage in place
- Do not use a basin next to another person even if this means waiting to wash your hands
- Close toilet lid before flushing to prevent water droplets escaping

Are food and drink outlets open?
A limited number of our catering outlets will be open from September 2020 – the latest opening times can be found here: College Lane and de Havilland. Please follow all signage including queuing guidance and use contactless payment methods wherever possible.

I have felt unwell since a recent visit to the university, what should I do?
If you feel unwell during your visit or within 7 days of your visit, please let your host know to ensure we can inform track and trace as necessary.
