Contemporary Arts Practice (CAP) brings together practitioners and researchers from across the creative spectrum including visual artists, composers, sound designers, theorists and art psychotherapists.
CAP members produce exhibitions, films, performances and live events, and work on collaborative projects internationally. We work on commissions and collaborations internationally with leading funding agencies, galleries, music venues, festivals and curatorial organisations. The group meets regularly to share ideas, stimulate debate and when relevant, find areas of common interest from which to build new projects. As part of this, CAP frequently invites practitioners from its international networks who further enrich its conversations. Housed within the School of the Creative Arts, CAP benefits from the input of postgraduate students, UH Arts and the artists from the UH Galleries programme, and members of other schools within the University. CAP’s mission is to ensure its community maintains a critical engagement with their subject and environment through exchange and collaboration.
