Our postgraduate programmes in Environmental Management, Sustainable Planning and Transport Planning provide you with research-led and strongly work focussed opportunities to develop your career. All our programmes are taught on a block basis to make it easier if you want to study part-time or work alongside your studies.
The Environmental Management programme involves developing your understanding of environmental systems and processes, environmental issues and solutions, and the techniques used to better manage the inter-relationships between society and the environment. This has never been more important, and the Environmental Management pathways give you the option of specialising in Agricultural aspects or Water management. You will explore contemporary environmental issues and solutions, such as carbon footprint, and waste and pollution management.
The three pathways of our Sustainable Planning programme are delivered through the Ebenezer Howard School of Planning, reflecting our history with the origins of planning and the world’s first garden cities at Letchworth and Welwyn. That history inspires us to give you the skills you need to meet contemporary sustainability challenges in planning cities, towns and rural areas.
The Transport Planning pathways are delivered with a focus on a zero-carbon future, through aligning sustainable land-use planning, transport planning and behavioural change. The Transport Planning programme also offers the option for undertaking a work based placement or advanced research within the Smart Mobility Unit.
As a postgraduate student, you will tackle global, social, environmental and economic problems and play a key role in improving the condition of our towns, cities, organisations and rural areas. Studying Environmental Management, Sustainable Planning or Transport Planning with us, will enhance your knowledge of critical issues and perspectives, allowing you to play a part in shaping the future of our planet.
With our impressive facilities and expert teaching staff, our postgraduate degrees can help you take the next step in your career, and help you specialise in your chosen field. Explore this page to find out more.
