School of Humanities
New for 2017, these awards will celebrate the contribution and achievements of our students beyond their studies. They are open to all final year students studying on the Humanities, Joint Honours/CATS and Mass Communications programmes.
The Dean's Award categories and descriptors are listed below. The judging panel will be looking for a clearly articulated statement with supporting evidence of the student's achievement, commitment and success in the category.
Nomination are now closed. The awards ceremony to be held in February 2018.
Outstanding engagement with extracurricular activities (self-nomination)
This award recognises a student’s achievement in other areas undertaken at the University such as sport, journalism, performing arts and other societies.
Impact through charity or community work (self-nomination)
This award recognises the impact of a student’s charity or community work undertaken inside or outside the University.
Commitment to global awareness and understanding (staff and self-nomination)
This award recognises a student’s commitment to global awareness and understanding demonstrated through study or placement abroad, working with international students or any project work undertaken as part of their studies.
Transformation through work experience (staff and self-nomination)
This award recognises a student who has developed employability skills and knowledge through part-time work, placement, internship, business competitions or client/School projects.
Contribution to the life of the School (staff nomination)
This award recognises the contribution made by a student to the School of Humanities or to a cohort or activity within the School.
