The Digital Animation programme at the University of Hertfordshire has been nationally and internationally recognised for its excellence. A highly sought-after programme, it covers a range of disciplines under the 2D animation, 3D animation, games art and visual effects umbrella. The University of Hertfordshire is ranked 22nd in the world (top in UK) for 'Top 50 Creative Media & Entertainment Schools and Colleges in 2021' (Rookie Awards) and is ranked 12th in the world for 'Top Game Design and Development Schools and Colleges in 2021 (Rookie Awards).

Industry standard equipment and round the clock support

Sitting in the heart of the School of Creative Arts’ Film, Music and Media Building, the programme is spread across our state-of-the-art computer suites, all equipped with industry-standard software and hardware including Intel i7 quad core computers with 24” full HD displays, Wacom tablets, the full Autodesk creation suite, Adobe Master Collection, Z-Brush, and much more.

Each course within the programme has a their own suite with specialist software including Unreal Engine 4 and Houdini FX.
