I was lucky enough to work for UH, HSV and also at the British Council - Sri Lanka. All this happened because of the overall experience at university.
Before I moved to Canada, I worked as an Assistant Manager - Student Experience at SLIIT - Sri Lanka. I managed the Student Services division as well as coordinated the student orientation programme. After completing studies at the University of Hertfordshire, I worked as an intern at the Mercer Building. I really loved my work there and the support provided to the students. Therefore, I chose Education Administration as my career path. I wanted to share and provide the same student experience I received at UH.
The University of Hertfordshire gave me the exposure I was craving. As an international student, I thought it would give me a different perspective if I completed my final year of studies at UH, and it would give me a proper understanding of International Business Administration. Due to the exposure, I was more confident in my work. Further, I was lucky enough to work for UH, HSV and also at the British Council - Sri Lanka. All this happened because of the overall experience at university.
UH offered me a direct transfer option to the final year in BA (Hons) International Business Administration. I loved the modules offered in the programme and also the fact that UH isn't located in a big city yet is close by to London.
The best thing about my programme was how relevant the modules offered were and how it has been a lifelong education.
Graduation. I will never forget that day.
I'd say take part in more student activities, take up a sport and overall enjoy the best 3 years of your life!
Be patient, empathetic and be a good listener.
