Professor John A Pickett CBE FRS

Professor John Pickett received an honorary degree of Doctor of Science in recognition of his outstanding contribution to biological chemistry. Professor Pickett worked for 41 years at Rothamsted Research in Harpenden, before taking up the post of Professor of Biological Chemistry at Cardiff University. Professor Pickett has made a significant contribution to the field of insect pheromones and their interaction with plants, leading to many developments in sustainable food production worldwide. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and has been widely acknowledged for his work, including a CBE in 2004 and the Wolf Foundation Prize in Agriculture in 2008.
