Dr Richard Beazley MBE

Richard Beazley MBE was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws for his contribution to the University and the county of Hertfordshire. Richard was the Chair of Governors of the University of Hertfordshire from 2013 until 2019. Under his leadership, the University introduced its 2015-2020 strategic plan, with its ambition to be known as the UK’s leading business-facing university. He has been a Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire since 2010 and was Chair of the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust from 2002 to 2012. He was recognised with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2021 for his services to Hertfordshire.
