What is your current role and how did you get to this point in your career?
My current role is Europe Marketing Manager and before this was Marketing Manager for Hamleys. I got to this point by completely believing in myself and continuously learning in my field.
How did your studies at the University of Hertfordshire help shape your career?
It helped me a lot in terms of working with all different kinds of people. What helped me the most was my placement year as it gave me the experience that helped me get employed.
What made you decide to study at this University?
The campus and overall feeling. I visited the university three times just to make sure I was making the right decision.
What was the best or most useful thing about your course?
My course allowed me to fully understand business and then marketing. Most importantly, it was relevant so I studied global marketing as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
What is your stand out memory from your time at the University?
Apart from studying it was definitely meeting my now husband. After nearly 12 years together we finally wed 19 May 2017.
Are you still in contact with friends you met at the University of Hertfordshire?
Yes! Some friends I met at Herts I now couldn't live without.
What advice would you give your younger self if you were starting at the University tomorrow?
Stay true to who you are. Do what is best for you and any extra curricula activity you can do, do it !
Do you have any advice for University of Hertfordshire graduates who are considering a career in your industry?
It is competitive but don't believe the stereotype and always think outside that box.
What are your future career plans/ ambitions?
I would like to gain a few more years of experience and then set up my own Marketing and Events company! Opting to offer Herts students internships perhaps.
