University of Hertfordshire calls on students to consider Degree Apprenticeships during National Apprenticeships Week

5 March 2019

The University of Hertfordshire is encouraging prospective students to consider Degree Apprenticeships as a route to gaining a full Bachelors or Masters degree while receiving practical, on-the-job training.

With more than 250 Degree Apprenticeship students on 14 expert courses, the University of Hertfordshire is a key Degree Apprenticeship provider in the East of England. The University’s Degree Apprenticeships programmes include partnerships with leading multinational and blue-chip businesses, including Airbus, Epson and MBDA, whilst also being one of the UK’s leading education providers for public sector Degree Apprenticeships – working with local government and NHS partners in the region.

Converting to a Degree Apprenticeship has enabled me to gain valuable management experience and the opportunity to create new inclusion projects, such as establishing the Hatfield Comets Wheelchair Rugby Club and fundraising for new campaigns.

The University of Hertfordshire’s flagship Hertfordshire Apprenticeship Show will take place on Wednesday, 6 March, as part of National Apprenticeship Week 2019 (4-8 March). Employers from across the county will be showcasing their current and/or future apprenticeship vacancies. The event will be held at the University of Hertfordshire’s Weston Auditorium, de Havilland Campus, AL10 9EU, and runs from 3.30-7pm.

Degree apprenticeships are a fantastic opportunity for students to study towards a Bachelors or Masters degree while gaining invaluable vocational experience. We encourage parents and students to visit the 2019 Hertfordshire Apprenticeship Show to find out about the range of popular apprenticeship routes available on their doorstep. Our partnership with regional businesses ensures our students develop the knowledge and attributes to succeed in business and has led to the University having the best graduate employment rate in the East of England for the last two years.
