The Hertfordshire Business School Placement Conference was held on the 8th March 2019.
Over 100 Business School students who are currently on placement returned to campus for the day, including 15 postgraduate placement students who were attending the conference for the first time.
During the event, students on placement had the opportunity to network with peers, alumni, Business School staff and employers, including Barclays Bank and BT.
Presentations were given about how to use LinkedIn, what to expect in the final year and the details of how the assessment for the placement module would work.
The placement students had an employer networking session about graduate roles, took part in a team challenge and an interactive session with alumni and final year students.
We have received excellent feedback about the event from the placement students who took part. Some who had thought they were alone were relieved to find that there were many from their year group who’d also taken a placement, so they would see familiar faces when they returned to study. Many students reported that the contact with employers was really useful, and that they got great insights into what the employers were looking for in graduates. The peer networking and social aspect was also good – one person even found housemates for their final year!
The Placement Conference was an excellent opportunity which we are delighted to see was beneficial to all who attended.
