4 June 2018

The Animation Exposé returned to the Weston Auditorium a fortnight ago (23 May) as another year came to a close at the University of Hertfordshire.

Live streamed around the world, the Exposé is the annual celebration of the graduating class of the School of Creative Arts’ world-renowned Digital Animation programme.

The ever-popular event was full of industry giants

As usual the ever-popular event was full of industry giants, with highlights including presentations from Slurpy Studios, Blue-Zoo, Rebellion and Rare. Following the industry talks, a student-led animation showcase exhibited the University’s best work in Visual effects, 3D and 2D animation, and Games Art. An award ceremony rounded off the day, helping recognise the excellence of the work displayed earlier in the afternoon.

Amongst the winners was Kai which went on to win the 3D Film award, Catkin which picked up the gong for the 2D Film award, and, Kyros which fought off stiff competition to win the Games Art Award.Following the close of the show, students, alumni and industry guests were invited to attend a separate Private Exhibition which featured exclusive screening's of all student work, whilst also providing a further opportunity for guests to network with one another.

'The University works exceptionally hard to help graduates attain successful careers in the industry'

Joint Programme leaders for Digital Animation, Martin Bowman and Daniel Goodbrey commented: ‘We run an internationally renowned and award-winning animation course and this event is the culmination of months of work for our students, providing them with the chance to showcase their huge range of talents.

‘We believe that the combination of exceptional technical and art skills, coupled with high level industry links, will open doors for an artist, and the University works exceptionally hard to help graduates attain successful careers in the industry.’
