University of Hertfordshire School of Humanities partners with local cinema to promote the film specialism in community.
The School of Humanities Film and Television department has partnered with a local cinema, The Odyssey Cinema in St Albans, in a series of outreach projects designed to promote the specialism in the local community.
The department will deliver a variety of activities from basic film introductions/post-screening discussions to working with the cinema on short programming exercises and potential screenings related to the department’s specialism and research.
For the first event in the series Darren Elliott-Smith, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television, will be providing an introduction and post-screening discussion on the 27 July 2018 for the recent critically and commercially successful horror Hereditary (Ari Aster, 2018).
Written and directed by Ari Aster, Hereditary is a horror film about a dysfunctional family.
