Annual Fashion Show celebrates graduating Class of 2018
The School of Creative Arts annual Graduate Fashion Show returned a fortnight ago (Thursday 7 June), to showcase the exciting collections developed by the University's graduating Fashion students.
The exciting and innovative collections ranged from striking busy prints and bold silhouettes to minimal concepts, as BA (Hons) Fashion Design students excelled to put on one of the best shows to date. The show was supported by a number of key sponsors from around the industry, including F&F, River Island and Paragon. A full stream of the Show is available here.
'The Show demonstrated the variety of creative concepts our fashion design students create'
Fashion Programme Lead Tony Rosella commented: ‘This year’s Graduate Fashion Show demonstrated once again the variety of creative concepts our fashion design students create. I’m proud to have led such a hard-working and dedicated group of students demonstrating their fantastic creativity who are ready to embrace the professional world.’
This year saw the first graduating class of the BA (Hons) Fashion and Fashion Business award
This year also saw the first graduating class of the BA (Hons) Fashion and Fashion Business award. Combining various elements of fashion business, including merchandising, sales and marketing, this award helps develop graduates with the knowledge and skills to forge a successful career within the Fashion Industry. Fashion & Fashion Business students got the chance to exhibit their work at the School of Creative Arts Degree Show 2018.
Rosella commented on the newly introduced course: ‘Our students have gained valuable learning and experience studying alongside industry experts to learn all about the fashion industry. Their dedication and commitment has been second to none producing in depth investigations and inquiries into many aspects of the fashion world. I am proud of their achievements and am confident their unique programme of learning will provide them with a sound foundation to pursue careers in many areas of fashion business.’
