Monica Dos Santos, BEd (Hons) Primary with QTS student, has been awarded the Jenny Plastow Prize.
Monica impressed the panel of judges with her arguments for inclusivity in teaching and in extra-curricular activities.
The Jenny Plastow prize is awarded annually to the School of Education student who demonstrates significant learning and embraces the values of the School. The panel judged that Monica met the criteria best.
Dr Jenny Plastow worked at the University of Hertfordshire teaching on EdD and MA programmes in the School of Education. She was a writer and was passionate about the role of literature in learning. She published articles on primary teaching and literacy and on modernist literature and gender studies. This prize commemorates her significant contribution to the School of Education and is part of her ongoing legacy in education. Previous winners of the prize include Graça Martins, who is now a tutor with responsibility for student experience in the School of Education.
