Join us online to find out more about credit accumulation and how you can tap into academic study at the University of Hertfordshire.

Have you previously studied a credit-bearing short course at the University of Hertfordshire or elsewhere?  Do you have a wealth of professional work experience you are looking to translate into an academic qualification?  The University of Hertfordshire Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) can help you to gain a higher qualification.

Join Nasserkhan Jamalkhan, CATS Programme Leader, in this livestream Teams presentation, to find out all about credit accumulation and how you can build a bespoke programme of study.

CATS is a flexible study framework that enables the University to provide individuals with bespoke programmes of study. It provides an opportunity for you to negotiate a programme of study that is not already available as a standard programme within the University, built from existing University of Hertfordshire modules and/or from short courses offered across the full range of University Schools of Study.

Relevant credits from other Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) - certificated, non-certificated and experiential - could also be included in a programme of study, meaning you may, in fact, have more academic credits than you think.

There is no time limit on using academic credits so you can join a CATS course no matter how long ago you first studied.

The CATS Programme can help you:

  • Gain a higher education qualification
  • Claim credit for prior studies
  • Improve your career prospects through developing new skills and building upon existing ones
  • Prepare for a return to work or a career change
  • Widen your knowledge and broaden your interests
  • Gain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for your current role

There will be the opportunity to ask questions and also to book an appointment if you wish to discuss your situation in more detail.
