2023 Hertfordshire High Sheriff’s Annual Lecture

Hertfordshire Law School and the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Sally Burton DL invite you to attend the 2023 Hertfordshire High Sheriff’s Annual Lecture, delivered by Marcus Taverner KC.

Marcus Taverner KC’s lecture, is titled ‘May The Best Lawyer Win’ and will examine the adversarial versus the inquisitorial systems of justice.

Marcus Taverner KC is a leading construction Barrister, Arbitrator and Adjudicator. He was twice named “Construction Silk of the Year” and has been described as “A commanding advocate who is, in our view, second to none in the construction field.” (Chambers UK 2020)

Marcus has appeared in all tiers of the UK Courts in the UK over the last 40 years and has advised and represented clients on projects around the world. He acted on behalf of UK governmental bodies, foreign governments, including Estonia and Peru, and many of the UK’s largest construction and engineering companies. Marcus has also been involved in the ongoing Grenfell Inquiry.
