University of Hertfordshire and Raffles College announce a new international partnership22 October 2018
Indonesian students now have the opportunity to expand their global employment prospects by studying for a prestigious UK Business Administration degree in their own country.
Students from Raffles College in Indonesia are able to study for a Level 6 BA (Hons) Business Administration with the University of Hertfordshire. This is the first time that a UK university has partnered with a local education provider to deliver a degree level course in Indonesia.
Julie Newlan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Business and International Development) at the University of Hertfordshire, said:
We are delighted to announce our partnership with Raffles College. As a leading business-facing University, we are particularly proud of our strong international partnerships and we look forward to giving students the opportunity to experience the same quality in course delivery locally as is in the UK.
Global learning environment
Stuart Smith, Director of International at the University of Hertfordshire, said: 'This partnership underpins our commitment to creating a global learning environment for the next generation of graduates. We believe our students at Raffles College will have a significant head start, following completion of the course, in what is a competitive national, and international, job market.'
This collaboration is supported by PT Star Pendidikan Lestari, a joint venture company between the shareholders of Star Education Group (owners of leading private education institutions including PSB Academy in Singapore, which will work with both institutions to provide resources and expertise) and PT Budhi Lestari (one of the leading education management and consulting groups in Indonesia).
Bringing institutions together
Viva Sinniah, Managing Director, Star Education Group, and Chairman, PSB Academy said 'We’re proud to have brought together two leading education institutions today, in a transnational partnership that will play a critical role in the continual development of Indonesia’s tertiary students, and prepare them for a future of work that transcends borders and cultures. The University of Hertfordshire and Raffles College both share our ambitions in building on our network of colleges and institutions that will give more local students, greater access to quality international qualifications— we are confident that the launch of this UK degree programme in Jakarta will see more Indonesians take on the world stage and contribute to the diversity and dynamism in industry that only the ASEAN economic community can offer.'
